Gabriel Figueredo

Principal Dancer, Stuttgart Ballet

Gabriel Figueredo was born in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil, and grew up in Taquara and São Paulo. He began his ballet training at Andanças de Rita Candemil in Taquara and later continued his studies at Pavilhão D in São Paulo.

In 2013, he received the Youth Grand Prix at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP). During the competition, he met Tadeusz Matacz, Director of the John Cranko School, who invited him to continue his professional training in Stuttgart. Gabriel joined the John Cranko School in 2014 and graduated in 2019.

Throughout his training, Gabriel received numerous prestigious international awards and distinctions, including:

* 2013 – Youth Grand Prix, Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP)

* 2018 – First Prize, Classical Dance Category, Youth America Grand Prix Barcelona

* 2018 – Heinz-Bosl-Prize

* 2019 – Prize Winner, Prix de Lausanne – Oak Foundation Scholarship

* 2019 – Grand Prix, Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP)

* 2019 – Dance Europe Magazine Award

At the Prix de Lausanne 2019, Gabriel was one of only eight official Prize Winners selected from the international finalists. He received the Oak Foundation Scholarship. Following the competition, he chose to accept a permanent contract with the Stuttgart Ballet.

Gabriel joined the Stuttgart Ballet in the 2019/20 season. He was promoted to Demi-Soloist in the 2021/22 season, Soloist in 2023/24, and became Principal Dancer of the Stuttgart Ballet in the 2024/25 season.

Even before joining the company professionally, he appeared in Stuttgart Ballet productions as a student. In 2017, choreographer Demis Volpi created the role of Tadzio in Death in Venice especially for him.

Today, Gabriel Figueredo is recognized as one of the outstanding dancers of his generation, combining exceptional classical technique, musicality, artistry, and a powerful stage presence.
